Home
摘要
Home seems a simple concept at first sight, but closer interrogation of the notion reveals a remarkable complexity. An object of multidisciplinary interest, home has been exposed to a vast range of binaries that have sought to circumscribe its meaning. The notion of home has however proven very adept at troubling such attempts. Contextual, cultural, political, material, imaginary, processual—home is both multidimensional and deeply human. This section seeks to tease apart some of the strands of this complexity, demonstrating home as interminably contested concept. As such an open notion, home consequently provides us with a powerful conceptual tool in the face of contemporary processes of de-homing.
