Conclusion: Guattari’s Philosophical (Un)timeliness

In this chapter I cross-examine Guattari and Deleuze’s philosophies, highlight their divergent aspects, and draw the implications. Additionally, I propose to reread both, and to reassess their differences, in connection to the problem of Openness and Closure, of which today’s philosophical discussion on contingency and worlding may be viewed, I argue, as a variation. Lastly, I present the conclusions that can be inferred from the arguments supplied in the previous chapters and I stress that the core notion of Guattari’s philosophy is not so much that of deterritorialization as that of compossibility.
