Ultrasound for Hemodialysis Access Planning
摘要
Well-performed duplex ultrasound (DU) can provide exquisite detail of both arterial and venous anatomy and physiology, both prerequisites for planning successful dialysis access. These data, in conjunction with consideration of other patient factors such as life expectancy, co-morbidities and functional status, allow for optimal access planning. A detailed protocol for vascular mapping is offered, including descriptions of normal and abnormal findings which may be encountered in the renal population.
