Home Dialysis

Home dialysis is a way for patients to undergo dialysis in the comfort of their own home. There are 2 modalities available. Home hemodialysis (HHD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Those modalities have been associated with better quality of life as well as better volume and electrolyte control. They require special planning due to the need for good patient selection as the patient is performing the daily care themselves; in addition there are storage requirements for the boxes of supplies needed to render and effective an safe dialysis treatment.
