Prosthetics and Today’s Biomaterials
摘要
Prosthetic grafts are essential components of vascular access creation and have been so for decades. Over the years, many modifications to the grafts have been made, and many novel grafts have been introduced. Innovations over the years have added benefits that led to their increased incorporation into surgical practice. Hence, a vascular access surgeon must be familiar with the prosthetic grafts and biomaterials currently available for clinical use. It is crucial to know the advantages and disadvantages of each so that the best decision can be tailored to the patient’s needs.
