People of Vietnamese Heritage

The Vietnamese, an Asian racial group closely related to the Chinese, shares some characteristics with other Asian and Pacific Islander groups, yet many aspects of its history and culture are unique. Their immigration to the United States was largely due to war, persecution, or the possible loss of life. Refugees from the past and those newer to the United States have brought many cultural practices and traditions in the hopes of seeking a better life.
