摘要

Data and data management have achieved an eminent meaning in innovation processes because they typically require sensitive information from various external legal entities. Within innovation projects the data issue quite often turns out to be a major barrier because companies are not ready to share their data if their expertise is not handled secure and protected. Data spaces represent a new approach to fostering data ecosystems, incorporating essential features for safeguarding the intellectual property rights and related interests of all participating data providers. Therefore, a data space can significantly enhance speed, security, traceability, and – most importantly - the trustworthiness within the process of sharing highly sensitive data. This paper talks about the concept of data spaces for the special field of innovation and how it can be built. For this a related innovation project provides helpful inputs in order to establish a useful and practical innovation data space.
