摘要

Goblin spiders are a family of tiny spiders that grow to 1–2 (rarely 3) mm in size. Currently, almost 2000 species in 115 genera are known. These short-legged spiders are predominantly nocturnal and do not build capture webs but actively hunt small insects. Oonopids are found almost worldwide but have a clear focus in the tropics and subtropics of the world. They inhabit leaf litter, the top layer of soil, and also vegetation.
