摘要

The seismic performance evaluation of variable beam through connections in steel box columns represents a crucial aspect of structural engineering, particularly in enhancing the resilience of structures subjected to seismic forces. This study investigates the response of such connections under seismic loading conditions, aiming to understand their dynamic behavior and performance. The variable through beam connection design introduces adaptability, allowing for different levels of flexibility in response to seismic forces. Through a comprehensive analysis, this research aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of these connections in mitigating seismic-induced structural damage, contributing valuable knowledge to the design and construction of earthquake-resistant steel structures. The research study the beam depth ratios in the beam through connections, improvising the beam through connection stability by stiffeners. Variable beam through connection is subjected to cyclic loading under FEMA protocol. All this study is done using ANSYS WORKBENCH 2023 R2 software. The research emphasizes the significance of evaluating seismic performance in steel structures, setting the stage for the specific focus on variable through beam connections in steel box columns. It suggests that the research outcomes have the potential to influence industry standards and contribute to the development of more robust and resilient structural systems in the face of seismic challenges.
