A Comprehensive Review of Machine Learning and Edge Computing Integration in the IoT Environments

The rapid expansion of Internet of things applications has led to a significant increase of network data and imposed a heightened level of computational complexity across diverse connected devices. This article introduces machine learning techniques, explaining their roles in analyzing massive amounts of sensor data and presents the application of certain advantages provided by edge computing. The key contribution of this study is the presentation of the integration of machine learning and edge computing within the Internet of things environment and explaining the deployment strategies and associated benefits for effectively integrating, the potential and challenges of machine learning and edge computing for Internet of things will also be discussed.
