First-Person Accounts of Musical Talent in Autistic Adults
摘要
In this chapter I present brief autobiographical accounts of a group of six autistic musicians. These individuals have generously shared their insights into their musical experiences and journeys, and their beliefs about how autism is conceptualised. My correspondence with some of these musicians stretches back over several years, with initial contact resulting from our shared interests in music and musical experience. Interview material included in this and the following two chapters was collected in multiple person-to-person meetings, online meetings and via e-mail.
