Financial Technology and Islamic Banks Performance: Evidence from Bahrain

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of mobile payment, crowdfunding, and internet banking on the Kingdom of Bahrain's Islamic banks’ performance. It is a quantitative study by using a questionnaire that will be distribute electronic to all 6 retail Islamic banks in Bahrain: al Baraka Islamic bank, Al Salam bank, iThmaar bank, Bahrain Islamic bank (BisB), Kuwait Finance House (KFH) and Khaleeji commercial bank. The authors expect to get a positive significant effect of mobile payment, crowdfunding, and internet banking on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Islamic banks’ performance. The study's findings could provide top management and decision-makers with theoretical knowledge and insight into the variables that may affect the Islamic banking sector’s performance. This study will also be beneficial to the Islamic banking sector in other ways.
