Autism, categorized under the umbrella term autism spectrum disorder (ASD), poses significant challenges in communication, learning, and social interaction due to delayed brain development. Individuals with ASD face lifelong challenges, necessitating specialized education and interventions. The intersection of autism and Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers promising solutions, leveraging AI’s capabilities in processing data, recognizing patterns, and adapting to individual needs to revolutionize the understanding, diagnosis, and support of individuals with ASD. This chapter is intended to analyze the support of AI in providing solutions to early diagnosis, therapy, intervention, and education. The promising role of AI in addressing the complex needs of individuals with ASD is also discussed while acknowledging current limitations and prospects.
