Information System Success Factors: Applied Seddon Model with Task Technology Fit Model for Assessing the Acceptance of e-Government in South Africa

Many researchers have done research around the world attempting to identify the factors that contribute to information system success. The increasing development and use of e-Government systems in the last decade leads to the need to research models of information system (IS) success in the context of e-Government. This paper aims to assess information system success model for e-Government in the public sector. To accomplish this goal, several information system success models and theories were examined. A model was proposed for this research using variables derived from the Seddon Model with the Task Technology Fit Model and added with the performance quality factor. The study used a quantitative research method and a total of 52 respondents participated in the study. The results showed that system quality, information quality, performance quality, task characteristics, technology characteristics, task technology fit all contribute positively on assessing the acceptance of e-Government in South Africa. The results of this study will add existing knowledge from past studies that have integrated IS success models in the context of e-Government.
