Integral Assessment of Cryptocurrency Quality

The relevance of the research is due to the rapid development of the digital economy and the emergence of innovative financial technology – cryptocurrency, which allows making international payments with minimal transaction fees, making investments, moving tangible and intangible assets. Assessment of cryptocurrency is the subject of this article. The purpose of the research is to develop the author's methodology for integral assessment of the quality of cryptocurrency and its testing. The leading research method of this problem is modeling, based on the analysis of Russian and foreign cryptocurrency assessment experience, the identification of value properties of different types of cryptocurrencies and their classification by the criterion of the manifestation areas, which allowed to develop an integral value-based methodology for assessing the quality of cryptocurrency and conduct an experimental calculation of the main types of cryptocurrencies using this methodology. The paper presents an integral value-based methodology for assessing the quality of cryptocurrencies. By means of a comparative approach, we carried out an analysis of methods for evaluating cryptocurrencies abroad. The article identifies four areas of value - value categories (functional, technological, economic, psychological), 18 value subcategories, 65 value criteria and 93 gradations of value of cryptocurrencies, and built an integrated model of value assessment of cryptocurrencies in the form of a four-level “value tree”. The gradation of value was carried out in the range from 1 to 10 units. The evaluation was carried out by expert method. The model is intended for use by operators of cryptocurrency exchanges, investors and crypto market specialists and is focused on the development of scientific and methodological support for the evaluation of cryptocurrencies. As a result of the research, an experimental calculation of the integral quality index of the 10 major cryptocurrencies in terms of capitalization was carried out. It was concluded that the method of integral assessment of the quality of cryptocurrencies proposed by the author is correct for all types of cryptocurrencies, including national digital currencies.
