Technology Transfer in the Field of Additive Medical Technologies Based on Patent Informatics Research

The study is devoted to the implementation of technology transfer in complex technical niches. Using the example of 3D printing technology in the production of heart valves, the authors of the study demonstrate the existing barriers that complicate the transfer of developments created by research centers to the real sector of the economy. The information base for the study is patent activity data collected from national and international patent information databases collected by intellectual property offices. The article identifies the main regions of innovation activity, as well as key players in this area. The authors of the article point out the conditions to transform startup projects into an independent business. The author's technology transfer model presented in the work shows three main milestones in the development of basic technology. The transition from the era of startups to the era of real business solutions expected to be carried out on the basement of flexible project management approaches.
