Understanding the Barriers to Logistics Collaboration in the Healthcare Supply Chain: A Canadian Case Study

The effects of the pandemic have left many healthcareHealthcare logisticsLogistics managers searching for new models for managing the healthcareHealthcare supply chainSupply chain. Studies tend to show a delay in the deployment of collaborative strategies between hospitals and their suppliers. To this end, a research team is involved in implementing and studying the impacts of a pilot project for such a collaborative strategy in the healthcare sector. Using a participant-observer methodology, the researchers were able to detect the challenges of developing trust between supply chain partners when no incentives were put in place to encourage strategic exchanges between the parties. The caseCase also highlights the challenge of obtaining and managing high-quality data and the shift towards proactive managementManagement, which requires new business processes.
