Medicines Strategic Sourcing in Moroccan Public Hospital: Development of Purchasing Portfolio and Strategies

摘要

The efficient management of the supply of medicinesMedicines is of crucial importance for Moroccan publicPublic hospitalsHospital. Because of budgetary constraints and the need to provide quality care to a large number of patients, it is essential to design optimal purchasingPurchasing strategies. These ensure a sufficient supply of medicinesMedicines, minimize costs and ensure the quality and availability of pharmaceutical products. The objective of the following chapter is to focus on the design of an effective drugDrug procurement strategy in the specific context Moroccan HospitalHospital, witch facing particular challenges related to the acquisition and management of drugs. Our research question here is which purchasing strategy is more suitable for each medicine category in hospital? The aim of this article is to map the medicine purchasingPurchasing with a portfolio model in order to make purchasing strategy in a publicPublic hospitalHospital using. To do this, we mobilized the strategicStrategic sourcingSourcing approach by opting for an action research and a case study of a university publicPublic hospital in Morocco. Kraljic Matrix Model (KMM) and AHPAnalytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method were used as tools to map the hospital’s medication purchasingPurchasing portfolio. Through our research, we have highlighted an interesting concept; “reverse marketing”. In this context, the need to design purchasing systems to establish the perfect match between the needs of a buying company and the supply market has emerged.
