Exploring the Potential of Generative Models in Promoting Local Language News Consumption
摘要
In the present era of digital platforms, there exists a notable disparity in the accessibility of news content across various languages, resulting in a disadvantage for individuals who speak Swahili. This research seeks to rectify this disparity by employing advanced generative artificial intelligence models, specifically tailored iterations of the BERT algorithm, to facilitate the production of Swahili news articles. Our methodology entails enhancing and refining these models to interpret and generate linguistically diverse information effectively. The study’s findings illustrate the effectiveness of AI-driven techniques in generating accurate and culturally suitable Swahili news content, thereby bridging the linguistic divide in the digital domain. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the vital significance of innovative AI applications in advancing inclusion and diversity on digital news platforms, setting a benchmark for future initiatives to improve language representation in the digital domain.
