Destructive Lesions of the Brain: Intracranial Hemorrhage and Stroke
摘要
Both intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) and stroke may lead to parenchymal damage with different mechanisms. ICH usually originates from the germinal matrix which may then rupture into the ventricular system. In some cases, the hemorrhagic event may extend at the level of the medullary venous plexus causing venous stroke, which results in parenchymal damage. Venous stroke may also occur as an isolated lesion, not associated with ICH. On the other hand, arterial stroke leads to major cortical damage through an arterial ischemic/hypoxic event.
