Evaluation of Seawater Desalination Technologies for Treatment: Energy and Economic Study
摘要
The current water desalination techniques fall into two categories, depending on the process used: thermal methods involving a change of phases: freezing and distillation. Membrane-based processes: reverse osmosis and electrodialysis. This comprehensive study analyzes current seawater desalination technologies, highlighting their advantages and limitations in the context of global water resource management. The methodology is based on a comprehensive literature review, a systematic comparison using academic databases, and interviews with experts for a practical perspective. The results of this analysis will provide an in-depth understanding of the respective performances of these technologies, while the discussion will explore the environmental and economic implications. In conclusion, this study aims to provide a sound basis for informed decisions in the choice of seawater desalination technologies.
