Endoscopic Surgery for Malignant Sinonasal Tumors
摘要
Malignant tumors affecting the sinonasal tract are uncommon and display various histological compositions, impacting their biological behavior and prognosis alongside factors like size and location [1]. Treatment approaches, ranging from surgery to radiation and chemotherapy, either singularly or in combination, are tailored based on these considerations. While in the past, surgical procedures predominantly relied on open approaches like craniofacial resection (CFR) [2], recent decades have witnessed advancements in endoscopic techniques, offering safer and equally effective tumor removal strategies [3]. Endoscopic procedures boast advantages such as minimized morbidity, avoidance of brain retraction, reduced facial scarring, and shorter hospitalization time. The precision of endoscopic visualization enables surgeons to precisely discern tumor margins and affected anatomical structures, contributing to better outcomes in treatment.
