Inverted Papilloma
摘要
Schneiderian papillomas (SPs) of the nose, also known as sinonasal papillomas, were first identified by Ward in 1854. These benign lesions have the name C. Victor Schneider in recognition of the man who first established that the ectoderm is the source of catarrh and not the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the 1600s. Kramer and Som distinguished SPs from inflammatory nasal polyps by classifying SPs as actual nasal neoplasms and referring to them as true papillomas. Ringertz was the first to notice how SPs vary from other kinds of papillomas in that they have a propensity to invert into the connective tissue stroma.
