Sinonasal Mucoceles
摘要
Mucoceles are expansile cystic lesions containing mucus and lined with respiratory epithelium. They constitute 3% of all sinus swellings and 2.7% of non-endocrine causes of proptosis. Ethmoid and frontoethmoid mucoceles are the more common variety. Mucoceles may be unilocular or multilocular, primary or secondary. Secondary mucoceles may be post-traumatic, postsurgical, or in association with other diseases. Mucoceles may be infected (mucopyoceles) and they frequently expand toward the eyes causing proptosis.
