Complications of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

During endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS), several complications may arise. These complications encompass a spectrum from potential intraoperative issues to postoperative concerns. Properly assessing and mitigating these risks across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods is crucial to ensure optimal surgical outcomes and patient safety. For this reason, the aim of this chapter is not only to outline the complications that may arise in this surgery but also to recognize and manage them according to the three aforementioned steps.
