Biologics in Rhinology

Biologics are monoclonal antibodies that are used for treatment a variety of diseases including chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps (CRSwNP) fulfilling certain criteria. He currently available biologics for CRSwNP are Omalizumab, Benralizumab, Mepolizumab, Reslizumab, and Dupilumab. Omalizumab and Dupilumab have been used for selected cases of allergic rhinitis. There is still a lack of head-to-head studies to provide real-life comparisons of the effectiveness of different biological drugs. An important issue that should be considered is the cost of biologics therapy compared to other options.
