Nasal Allergy
摘要
Allergic rhinitis is a nasal disorder characterized by irritative symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and rhinorrhea as well as nasal congestion and nasal airway obstruction induced by allergen exposure via an IgE-mediated inflammation of the nasal mucosa [1]. Allergic rhinitis is highly prevalent in industrialized nations. In some countries, the prevalence approaches 20% [2]. Allergy sufferers experience significant quality-of-life burden with lost work and school productivity, sleep disturbance, and comorbid ocular and respiratory disease. Comprehensive rhinology care includes assessment and treatment for nasal allergy.
