Overall Picture: The Role of Sustainable Processes and Renewable Resources

This chapter describes the framework within which HTC is placed, from different points of view, but especially considering the current environmental outlook. Also, different points about the relevance of HTC in green technologies and circular economy are explained, pointing out the promising perspective of this technology in the medium and long term.
