Web-Based Interactive Radiation Visualization Tool for Radiation Protection Learning

摘要

This paper proposes a web-based radiation visualization tool for radiation protection learning. During the radiation therapy, a medical doctor and his/her assistants besides a patient are faced with the radiation exposure. To protect the radiation exposure, medial students have to learn the protection methods against the radiation exposure. Several simulation codes have already been developed for understanding the radiation dose distribution. There is a research to visualize the simulation results using ParaView tool. Although its educational efficiency was confirmed, too many functions of ParaView require users much time to learn its operations, and preparations such as installation of ParaView are also burdensome for users. Therefore, the authors developed and evaluated a web-based interactive radiation visualization tool that allows users to prepare the learning environment simply and interactively reflecting the effects of protective equipment in addition to visualizing radiation dose distribution.
