Designing a Quiz Application Navigation for Visually Impaired Persons Based on Android Platform
摘要
The use of smart devices in education is commonplace in the digital era. The ease of use and speed in the process of accessing information make the level of dependence on smart devices even higher. Access to educational information, especially the learning process, is mostly accessed through smart devices by users. Due to this phenomenon, smart devices become the main intermediary between information and users. This ideal assumption is of course for users with perfect sensory function conditions. There are several groups of users who have difficulty accessing the information available through smart devices especially users with visual impairments. However, in the digital market, there are applications that are very helpful for these visually impaired users both free and paid. Although the applications used to help visually impaired users have many variations, most of them are complementary applications that are used to help narrate all the information that appears or is displayed on the screen of a smart device. This paper attempts to describe the navigation design for a quiz application for users with visual impairments. Therefore, it can increase the reusability of using smart devices for blind users. This design shows how an application is built taking into account that users can only interact with their device based on their sense of hearing and touch of a finger or palm. Any changes to the navigation activity are communicated via voice and vibrate functions.
