Energy-Efficient Concurrency Control with Role and Purpose Concepts

摘要

In information systems, conflicting transactions issued by subjects concurrently manipulate objects. In this paper, an subject- and purpose-oriented (SP-) dominant relation of transactions is newly proposed based on the significancy of roles assigned to subjects and purposes assigned to transactions. Then, the EESPO (Energy-Efficient Subject and Purpose Ordering) scheduler is newly proposed to not only serialize transactions based on the SP-dominant relation but also reduce the electric energy consumption of servers. Evaluation results show the more significant transactions are performed prior to the less significant transactions on each object and the electric energy consumption of servers can be reduced in the EESPO scheduler.
