Lifestyle Therapy: Diet and Exercise in the Management of Obesity
摘要
The American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and The Obesity Society (AHA/ACC/TOS) guidelines for the management of overweight and obesity in adults outlined the approach to weight loss goals and management. Lifestyle intervention is critical for weight loss and for achieving long-term results with pharmacotherapy, endoscopic bariatric and metabolic therapies (EBMT), and metabolic surgery. It is important to perform a proper evaluation and work with patients to develop individual care plans that incorporate diet and exercise programs the patient can adhere to in the long term. Close follow-up and ongoing evaluations, with plan adjustments, are also important for long-term success.
