摘要

Focus has turned to endoscopic bariatric and metabolic therapies (EBMT) as an alternative or adjunct to surgical techniques. It has been previously reported that a higher BMI may be associated with higher adipose mass, a reduction in total body water, higher glomerular filtration rate (GFR), and normal hepatic clearance. This could potentially increase sedation risk, as the combination of these factors may lead to a higher dose requirement for adequate sedation in these patients. However, data on endoscopic sedation in patients with obesity, pre- or post-bariatric surgery, remains sparse.
