Endoscopic Management of Foreign Bodies in the Post-Bariatric Population
摘要
Foreign bodies in the post-bariatric population may include prosthetic material inserted at the time of surgery (mesh, bands, sutures, staples), or stenoses formed as a result of the body’s inflammatory reaction to foreign materials. Complications related to presence or migration of foreign bodies or post-bariatric stenosis may include pain, obstructive symptoms, loss of efficacy, and infections. This chapter will review the endoscopic management of these post-bariatric foreign materials and their complications.
