The process of gender transition differs for each individual, depending on their priorities and goals. Each priority can also result in a different set and timeline of procedures. Some of the options include phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, vaginectomy, hysterectomy, and oophorectomy. Considerations when choosing between surgeries include the appearance of the genitals, functionality of the genitals, preservation or loss of erogenous sensation, overall timeline, and cost of the procedures, to name a few.
