Feminizing Genital Gender-Affirming Surgery

The process of gender transition differs for each individual, depending on their priorities and goals. Each priority can also result in a different set of procedures. Some of the options include full-depth vaginoplasty, shallow-depth vaginoplasty, orchiectomy, vulvoplasty, scrotoplasty, and others. Considerations when choosing between surgeries include the appearance of the genitals, functionality of the genitals, preservation or loss of erogenous sensation, selection of canal versus no canal, source of canal skin, and cost of the procedures, to name a few.
