Exploration of Crystal Structure: Characterization of L-Arginine Copper (II) Chloride (LARCUCL) Single Crystal

L-Arginine copper (II) chloride single crystals have been grown by slow evaporation method from aqueous solution. As grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, the vibrational frequencies of various functional groups present in the crystal have been ascertained through FTIR and FT-Raman recordings. The range and percentage of optical transmission were found using the UV-Vis-NIR spectrum. The thermal stability of the crystal was investigated by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses. Dielectric measurements were carried out for L-Arginine copper (II) chloride single crystal at various temperatures in the frequency range 1 kHz to 5 MHz. The mechanical strength of the crystal was studied using Vicker’s microhardness test for (0 1 0) plane. The Kurtz Perry powder technique is employed to study the SHG efficiency of the grown crystal.
