Investigating the Growth of <011> Plane–Oriented Triglycine Sulphate Single Crystals for Ferroelectric Applications
摘要
Good-quality triglycine sulphate (TGS) single crystals were grown in this study, and the optimisation of the TGS single crystals in the <011> plane orientation will be discussed. This study investigates the grown crystals of <011> TGS by using dielectric studies and discusses ferroelectric studies in detail. Dielectric studies performed on the surfaces of the <011> plane have provided the room temperature εr value of TGS at 9.9–10 kHz and the lower value of tan δ (0.004) and have shown the lowest level of power dissipation when the crystals are used in various applications. As expected, ferroelectric studies have demonstrated the rectangular polarisation–electric field (P-E) loop and have done so with nearly equal values of Ps = Pr ~ 2.2 μc/cm2. TGS single crystals have an order–disorder structural phase transition at the Curie temperature of 49.3 °C. The hysteresis measurements for the ferroelectric TGS family of crystals show that they are suitable for many applications.
