摘要

Natural water-soluble polymer obtained through fermentative processes using Xanthomonas is Xanthan. Xanthan has a property of biocompatibility, biodegradability, and nontoxicity and has various industrial applications such as nanoparticles, tissue engineering scaffolds, transdermal patches, hydrogels, and matrices of tablets. This study aimed to isolate the Xanthomonas sp. from the infected leaves, the production and chemical analysis of the gum, and further for the diabetic activity. The Xanthomonas sp. was confirmed by gram staining showing Gram-negative rods and by biochemical test showing methyl red, catalase, KOH, and H2S positive. The production of xanthan gum and diabetic control was done and it was found that the xanthan gum showed high activity in all the concentration.
