Crystal Growth and Characterization of Nickel Chloride Doped with Thiosemicarbazide Picrate Crystal (TPDNC)
摘要
The pure and Nickel chloride doped with thiosemicarbazide picrate (TPDNC) crystals was grown successfully by slow evaporation method at room temperature. The nonlinear optical material of crystal Nickel chloride doped with thiosemicarbazide picrate (TPDNC) was grown. The optical properties of (TPDNC) were determined by UV-Visible spectral studies. The functional group of Nickel chloride-doped TPDNC crystals was observed and recorded by FTIR analysis. The presence of functional groups like C–S stretch, N–H plane in bend, C–N stretch, N–H stretch, C–O asymmetric stretch, N–O stretch, C=S stretch, N–H asymmetric stretch, etc., was revealed by FTIR analysis. The TG-DTA studies show that the TPDNC has good thermal stability up to 230 °C with a major weight loss of 98% observed in the temperature ranges 210 °C–310 °C. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the crystallization of the synthesized materials and determines its unit cell parameters. The crystalline nature and purity of the grown crystals are confirmed by the powder X-ray diffraction pattern. It is examined using XRD studies of powdered crystals, the values of hkl, relative intensity, and 2Ɵ values for the reflection peaks of the powder XRD pattern are given. This is the most desirable property of the crystals used for nonlinear optical applications. Scanning electron microscope study reveals that the grown crystals are of good quality with layer-like structure. The effect of Nickel chloride doping on the morphology of the TPDNC crystals has been studied.
