Experimental Analysis of a Hexagonal Basin Solar Still

This analysis deals with the introduction of an altered structure in a solar still basin in the form of a hexagonal shape to enhance the effectiveness of the solar distil. The focus of this paper is to analyse the effectiveness of the hexagonal solar still by integrating with the multifaceted design of the plate (absorber) such as a flat absorber plate alone, and a flat absorber plate with pebbles (with and without a black coating). Most of the traditional solar stills were in a square basin with a single slope or dual slope, or even a triangular basin with a triangular top cover or a square pyramid of transparent top covers. This experimental analysis shows that the daily outcome of a hexagonal basin solar still with a flat absorber plate with pebbles (with a black coating) is more effective than the flat absorber plate with pebbles (without a black coating) and other dual- and single-slope flat-plate solar stills. In the above analyses, the results show that using pebbles along with a flat plate would be more effective than the traditional still.
