A Chemical Approach: Disposal of Solar Panel
摘要
Solar panels are commonly used in many applications. There are different types of solar panels consisting of aluminum, chromium, silver, ethylene-vinyl acetate, glass, lead, and cadmium. These materials used in solar PV are more dangerous and may cause cancer and environmental pollution. An issue with potential environmental implications is the decommissioning of solar cells at the end of their life. In this present proposed research, the dead unused solar PV cells will be disposed of by a chemical method by using sulfuric acid. After chemical treatment, elements like carbon 0%, oxide 14%, sodium 1%, manganese 1%, silicon 7%, cadmium 1%, calcium 1%, and other materials are identified through SEM results and FTIR results. In this work, we have conducted various experiments in sulfuric acid solutions like the sample is dipped for 6 hours, 8 hours, and 12 hours. An optimum result was obtained in 12 hours sample.
