Experimental Study on Ultra-High-Performance Concrete Subjected to Various Loading

The experimental study of the ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) was carried out under various loading. The UHPC materials were used as the external confining jacket for the concrete columns. UHPC is a propelled kind of solid that can improve the durability and resilience of reinforced concrete structures. It attains a high range of compressive strength and also it can attain strength easily. When the columns are made up of low-strength concrete or deteriorated, the UHPC mix made with steel fibers makes the column hold the load more than the low-strength concrete. The steel filaments are put in to enhance the resistance, ductility, and abrasion resistance and decrease the shrinkage. UHPC is one of the strategies normally utilized to fix and recover reinforced concrete structures. UHPC was chosen for all of the concrete specimens with OPC of Grade 53, silica fume, fine aggregate, accelerators, steel fiber, and superplasticizer. In this, the coarse aggregate is eliminated. The high cementitious mixture blend of fiber containing steel has volume parts of 0%, 1%, 2%, and 2.5% utilized to deliver UHPC concrete. UHPC mix has increased compressive strength and flexural strength and decreases the water absorption of concrete. The compressive load of the UHPC specimen was obtained by testing three unique, different layers of cube-shaped specimen and a beam specimen. All the UHPC specimens are subjected to axial loading, compressive and flexural behavior is studied, and a sorptivity test is conducted to measure the water uptake rate through the porous part of the concrete.
