Unveiling the Mysteries of the Big Bang

  • Gian Francesco Giudice

摘要

As a boy, I was thrilled by the stories of the archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann. I was fascinated by his obsession to prove that the Iliad is not just the fruit of Homer’s imagination, but tells of events that really happened. Years ago, I stayed in Mycenae in the same room that Schliemann had occupied during the excavations in which he found the golden mask of Agamemnon. I felt the thrill of sleeping in the same wrought iron bed used by the eccentric German archaeologist, dreaming of the deeds of Achilles and Hector, as perhaps he had done himself a hundred and thirty years earlier.
