Adult-Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD)

Adult-onset Still’s disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic autoinflammatory disorder of polygenic origin, which is based on pathologic immune mechanisms due to the complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors. AOSD can occur sporadically in all adult age groups and is characterized by a potentially severe inflammatory onset accompanied by a wide range of symptoms and complications. Diagnosing and treating AOSD consistently presents a challenge, primarily due to the need for comprehensive clinical guidelines.
