Granulomatous Myositis
摘要
Granulomatous myositis (GM) is uncommon, and the demonstration of the granuloma in the muscle biopsy is necessary for its diagnosis. Sarcoidosis constitutes the main etiology, although an increase in the incidence of a GM form associated with inclusion body myopathy is currently recognized. Treatment will be determined by the underlying etiology of the GM. The outcome is variable and, sometimes, unpredictable, and sarcoidosis shows the most favorable response to therapy, based on glucocorticoids.
