Studying African Pentecostalism: One Woman Scholar’s Journey
摘要
Using the narrative analysis approach due to its ability to utilise stories to describe human experience and action as well as allowing people to construct meanings of life experiences, the chapter focuses on the author’s journey in studying African Pentecostalism. This is because my journey both as a Pentecostal Christian and an academic studying, among other things, Pentecostalism is fascinating. Basically, as shall be shown later, I have traversed the different spaces of Protestant, Catholic, African Initiated as well as Pentecostal Christianity. The narrative analysis approach will, therefore, enable me to articulate my journey in studying African Pentecostalism and the meanings that I have derived from the experiences I have gone through. I describe how I have studied African Pentecostalism from multiple methodological perspectives.
