Archaeology as Politics

  • John Carman

摘要

This chapter examines archaeology as it relates to politics, emphasising the inevitably political nature of the field, to support established forms or present challenges to them. It examines the manner in which archaeology serves political entities and as a mechanism of governance. It considers how archaeologists respond to power relations and how archaeology provides a basis and resources for resistance to authority, especially as a form of political activism globally.
