Professional Development for Teaching Students with SEN

This chapter discusses the importance of ongoing professional development for teachers working with SEN students in mainstream classrooms in the UAE. It outlines the UAE’s initiatives and laws supporting inclusive education and explores the challenges and requirements for effective inclusion. The chapter emphasises the need for specialised training for teachers to address the diverse needs of SEN students and highlights the role of collaboration and support systems in enhancing the educational experience of these students. The study employs qualitative methods, including interviews with teachers, to explore the impact of professional development on teaching practices and student outcomes in inclusive settings.
