Including Women’s History or Teaching History from a Feminist Perspective? The Predisposition to Multiperspectivity of History Teachers in Quebec
摘要
Despite an abundance and richness of historical research mobilizing feminist epistemologies, this historiography is rarely found in courses on the history of Quebec and Canada. This chapter addresses the challenges faced by teachers when courses remain largely built around masculinist political history. The author analyses the results of interviews with teachers to build a portrait of teachers’ experiences and representations of history and gender relations in the past to better understand how they approach the topic. The author discusses the implications of teachers’ approaches to gender history for the future of learning in the province of Quebec.
